Finding love in #lockdown

I thought the title of this blog might get your attention!😃 The last couple of months have been, to say the least, extraordinary. The year 2020 will be remembered in history as the point in which our world changed in many ways. Since rumblings of the new coronavirus strain started in January, first in faraway China (or so I thought), through to its surreal arrival and subsequent devastation on our own shores, we are all being impacted every day by the COVID-19 pandemic in some shape or form. As an educator, my colleagues and I have spent the last two weeks trying to get used to working from home. Even the way that we love one another has changed, with the social...actually, no...physical distancing restrictions in place. My cousin recently tweeted what I initially thought was him flouting the social distancing directive, but later realised was a call to be determined to keep 'showing love' in spite of #socialdistancing.

Do you know that there is someone who is longing for your company and friendship? Right in the middle of this lockdown is most probably the best time for you to get to know Him better. Yes, I'm referring to the Creator of the Universe - your creator and my creator. Yes, He is the Lord God Almighty but also wants to be your Father, your friend. You don't need to 'do life' on your own; God wants to 'hold hands and walk with you' through your life's journey, starting today. Today is Good Friday in the Christian calendar, a day where we reflect on the huge sacrifice that God made just so that you and He could have a personal relationship. It is a well-known fact that about 2000 years ago, a Jewish man named Jesus was publicly executed for claiming to be God, to be God's solution to our broken world. Have you ever watched or heard of the 2004 movie directed by Mel Gibson called The Passion of the Christ? God is knocking on the door of your heart (see Revelation 3:20), waiting longingly for you to open the door. Will you accept His invitation?

Are you, like many others in 'lockdown' around the world beginning to feel bored, claustrophobic, or even depressed? As promised, I'm continuing to record a series of videos during the UK lockdown to help you keep your chin up and see the light in all this. Start off by watching my latest video and then make a list of your CMBs:

Remember to stay home, keep safe and save lives! Happy Easter!!

Much love 😘
